Race Team

Our Club Race Team support and work alongside the Race Officers to provide interesting and varied courses to our club racers. George Hoskins has a pivotal role on the Council representing Race Management and Club Race Officers.

As a Club Race Team member, you are allocated 2 duties a year and there are opportunities to volunteer for additional club or open meeting events and training to become a Race Officer is available.

A typical race team duty involves helping the race officer to start races using various sound signals and flags. Finishing races, writing down sail numbers and times to form a set of results. After racing helping to pack away equipment and assisting the Race Officer put the results from the race into the computer ready to be published onto the website.

What you will need for the day:

  • A Buoyancy Aid. These can be hired from the club if needed.
  • It can get chilly during the winter months so lots of layers will be needed.
